Aurion Learning, one of Ireland’s leading providers in digital learning has developed a range of resources to support the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) in their launch and national roll out of MenuCal, a new calorie calculator which will enable food businesses to display calories on their menus.
The resources include a number of online video demonstrations and ‘e-supports’ that show food businesses exactly how to use the core features of MenuCal. The online learning company also developed an animated explainer video which provides an innovative and engaging introduction to MenuCal for new and prospective users.
“We were delighted to assist the FSAI by designing this range of online resources to support the launch of the MenuCal tool” said Gavin Woods, Business Development Manager at Aurion Learning.
“The MenuCal ‘e-supports’ are the latest in a series of innovative online learning content and support tools that Aurion Learning has developed in collaboration with the team at the FSAI.”
The new online calorie calculator which is available to Ireland’s 22,000 food service businesses free-of-charge, is considered a first of its kind in Europe. The tool incorporates over 450 useful tips and prompts depending on ingredient and recipe type. It includes an initial 2,000 popular food ingredients which users can add to and customise, based on their own recipes.
