Award-winning E-Learning company Aurion Learning has announced the launch of its first Corporate Responsibility Report in a bid to encourage social responsibility and accountability within small businesses.
The report details the various corporate social responsibility initiatives Aurion Learning has contributed to in 2012 and 2013, including educational projects such as Time to Read and Silver Surfer’s Day, as well as participating in a number of fundraising events.
The report outlines the measures Aurion Learning is undertaking to minimise its impact on the environment and have a positive effect on its local community.
Speaking of the report, Ciaran O’Hare, Director of Aurion Learning said, “Corporate social responsibility is not just an add-on to our regular business activities but is part of the day-to-day decision making at Aurion Learning. Our recent report allows to us communicate our aims and progress to key stakeholders within the business.”
Aurion Learning has been a member of Business in the Community NI since 2009. Deputy Managing Director, Lisa McIlvenna of Business in the Community said “Corporate responsibility isn’t about how a business spends its profits, it’s about how it makes them. Acting responsibly is within the grasp of every organisation – large or small. Aurion Learning is commended for its commitment to doing the right thing and taking this important step of reporting on its corporate responsibility activities.”
Aurion’s participation in these schemes reflects its three-fold aim of bridging the digital divide in Northern Ireland, teaching new skills and encouraging staff giving and volunteering.
