Flash, and it’s gone…

After 31 December 2020 Adobe will discontinue Flash.  Meaning that any Flash-based eLearning content you have will no longer work properly from 1 January 2021.

In the run-up to this deadline, many of the browsers started to reduce their support for Flash, so you may have already noticed some errors or problems with this content and have already taken action to republish Flash-based content to HTML5 – great! However, if you have yet to convert, you only have a few short weeks to decide what to do with it.

So, what are my options?

Refresh, republish, redo or remove.

Unfortunately, there is no reliable ‘click to convert’ tool that will simply change Flash content into robust HTML5.

Whether you decide to make some quick design edits, content changes, fix text rendering issues caused with multi-device and browser issues, take advantage of features that weren’t available before in previous versions, or rebuild the course from the ground up, we can help.

Previously we developed an 8 step guide for converting Flash to HTML, that will guide you through the process.

At Aurion Learning, we have converted 1000’s of pages from eLearning to HMTL5 so we know what common pitfalls to watch out for.

Don’t let your Flash-based eLearning sit idle. If you still plan on using it in 2021, make sure you take action and review your legacy content and make a plan on what to do with it.
