Epilepsy Ireland has launched a new patient education app to support people with epilepsy, those supporting and caring for people with epilepsy, as well as those interested in improving their understanding of epilepsy.
The new app, EpiLearn, will deliver a range of interactive bite-sized learning resources to add an extra layer to Epilepsy Ireland’s information resources and to provide a digital, interactive resource for those seeking to learn more about epilepsy.
The app covers a range of topics on Epilepsy, structured into pathways of learning featuring videos, quizzes and practice exercises.
The new app has been designed and developed in collaboration with Epilepsy Ireland and healthcare eLearning specialists, Aurion Learning, using their latest mobile learning platform offering, ByteKast.
ByteKast is an innovative learning platform that goes beyond the user experience and use case of traditional LMS solutions and provides structured pathways of learning incorporating online resources and offline learning experiences in an accessible format.
Commenting on the new digital learning initiative, Training and Quality Manager, Edel Curran said:
“The availability of this engaging new platform will be an accessible resource that will take the user on a journey to increase their understanding of epilepsy at a time that is convenient for them. The aim of this is to provide information in an interactive way that will engage the user through different activities, to help people to gain valuable insight into the condition of epilepsy”.
Gavin Woods, Managing Director at Aurion Learning added:
“As innovators in rethinking traditional training and patient education, it is a privilege to support Epilepsy Ireland with this latest training innovation. Epi Learn is a cutting-edge solution that will help Epilepsy Ireland to scale their training initiatives and support those affected by Epilepsy across Ireland."
