Challenge

Argyll and Bute is one of the largest unitary authority council areas and a lieutenancy area in Scotland.
The council required training and support to ensure that their workforce development team had the necessary knowledge and skills to equip them in developing effective interactive eLearning content to support the delivery of the in-house training plan.

Solution

After further discovery and identification of organisational needs, we delivered the following:

  • Created a re-usable, council branded eLearning template that featured a range of slide types, interactions and reusable icons.
  • Delivered a bespoke capacity building training. This included Authoring Tool training covering the core features as well as those additional features that are deemed relevant to the content types that the council team would be developing.
  • Delivered a content author workshop where we reviewed content that had already been created by the team to date.
  • We also provided an introduction to best-practice instructional design techniques that the workforce development team can use in the development of their own content.

Results

The Council’s learning team now have a reusable eLearning template and are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to design and deliver training in-house, saving weeks of development time, whilst creating cost-efficiencies for the organisation.
We also provide on-going learning and development services to Argyll and Bute Council through an eLearning framework contract.
